Jesse and Nancy Guerra

My wife Nancy and I were born and raised in Southern Michigan. We have a blended family of 6 children and 10 grandchildren.  In December of 2003, I received a call from a recruiting agency asking me, if I would like to work for a growing company in the San Antonio area.  I left Michigan March 3rd  to start our new life and  Nancy stayed in Michigan to sell our home.

On Sunday, March 6th I attended my first service at Cornerstone church. Pastor Matt greeted me with a warm smile and firm handshake, “welcome to Texas and Cornerstone church,” he said.   He told me I needed to get plugged into a cell group right away.  He introduced me to Chuck and Annette Ham to get all the details concerning cell groups in the area.  Later in the week, I called Chuck and asked if I could attend his cell group.  They welcomed me with open arms and loving support.  I felt God’s love that night.  My wife moved to Texas in May of 2004.  Since my attendance at Cornerstone, I’ve been baptized, we became members, I serve as an usher and we our very own cell group.

My life wasn’t always this exciting or blessed.  I was raised a catholic and Nancy was raised a Lutheran, both trying to do the right things in our life.  I felt empty and confused about God.   Raised by a single parent, I became wild and rebellious without direction or discipline.  Many of my choices lead me away from God.  For many years, I was addicted to marijuana, which I used to numb the pain of un-forgiveness.   I was so good at hiding this secret not even my wife suspected my dependency.  God saw the emptiness in my life.  During a Joyce Meyer crusade in the summer of 2002, I gave my life to Jesus Christ and the bondage of drugs and pornography were broken. Since my dedication to the Lord, Nancy and I have grown together in our spiritual walk. We are looking forward to winning souls and building disciples with the help and prayers of Pastor Hagee and our awesome Tribe leaders.

“Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”). (Matthew 28:19) .  We’ll see you at our house on Friday night!
