Donn and Marlene Ogle

During my single adulthood life, I did not have a relationship with the Lord.  In 1993, I met my wife Marlene inDonn and Marlene Ogle Florida.  After dating eight months we married.  Marlene and I never talked about the Lord; we just fell in love with each other and married.  It wasn’t until 1998, when we were living in London, England that I saw Marlene change and draw near to the Jesus Christ. She would listen to Pastor John Hagee’s sermons on tapes and read various religious books.  I knew God existed, but I was so far away from Jesus Christ that it never entered my mind to engage in a righteous life, especially after having the gift of Marlene and marriage.

In 2003, we moved back to San Antonio and tried to find a church for Marlene.  Marlene had been saved and stayed spiritual steadfast when I wasn’t.  I was completely into the world.  I knew Marlene was praying for me, but did not know what I was about to experience.  To my surprise, I would learn that she would be my light and guide to my spiritual transformation.

One Sunday morning during Pastor Hagee’s sermon, I saw Marlene crying.  I asked her what was wrong and she said nothing.  At that point I realized that I needed Jesus Christ in my life if I wanted to remain with Marlene, a feeling came over me…something I cannot explain.  The Lord began to prune me and bad habits were being cut out of my life.

In 2005, I got saved and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.  I truly believe that if it were not for Marlene, my life would have been forever lost to the world.  I believe in prayer and the power of the Word, 1 Peter 3:1 – 2 1Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husband so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.

I thank God for leading Marlene to choose Cornerstone Church.  I have seen such an inner beauty about Marlene, she has truly been a gift from God and I thank Him for her every day.  I am amazed to see what God continues to do in our lives as Marlene and I call on Him.

We serve a God who forgives and has to power to work all of our mistakes for good.  No matter where you are, rest on the understanding that God is with you, call on His name.  Remember…Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all things will be given to you as well.

We invite you to join us in sharing the Word of God; we meet Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.  God Bless You!
